Analytics of Medium Posts

In my Communications in Writing and Digital Media class that I am taking at Nazareth college, I have made several posts on Medium about different topics that we learned about throughout the course. There were a few posts that were quite high in terms of views and reads. The first post was my introduction post. This was about me and was a very quick read which is why it gained so many reads. It also included a picture of me, which put a face to the writer. Another post that got a lot of views was my post about some Tips and Tricks for using medium. This got a a-lot of views due to the pictures that were included along with the shortness of the post. A third post, was my post about the Fashion at the Grammys. This got a lot of views due to it was mainly pictures and not a lot of writing.

However, there were some posts that did not get very many views or reads. These posts only contained 1 read through or view. I feel that something that I could do for these posts is go back an edit them. I can edit them for the length of the post, knowing that people tend to see how long the read is to figure out if it is something that they want to read or not. I also feel that I could add pictures throughout the posts to make the reader more engaged. Having a picture of something to look at while you’re reading about it can be helpful for understanding. Another piece that I could add to amp up the amount of views and reads on my lower posts, would be to add some pull quotes. This can help to give the reader a better understanding of the topic, and it can help to break up the piece, and give the reader a break from reading something that may be long.
